Flash Mob Dance
Ever felt inspired to break out into dance while strolling on the street? Well now you can!
We are planning a
surprise mob dance performance.
We are currently looking for up to 100 young people from Chesterfield (and further afield) of all shapes, sizes and ages to volunteer for this fun and unique event! All you need is a little bit of coordination (but not too much), lots of energy and the ability to keep a secret.
You will learn the moves to a dance routine created by well-known choreographer Filip Van Huffel (Retina Dance Company) via an online tutorial and up to four group rehearsals in the lead up to a surprise city centre performance in the last week of March.
Places are limited so register your interest now and get dancing in the streets...
When
Four group rehearsal sessions have been scheduled for the Monday 15th, Tuesday 16th March and Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th with a final rehearsal Friday 26th March 2010. The big performance will take place on the morning of Saturday 27th March.
Where
A top secret location in Chesterfield.

After the event...
We advertised through social media networks for young people in Chesterfield to take part in a "flash mob" event on Saturday, 27th March (sudden dancing in a public place). More than 30 young people took part, attending just 4 workshops before the final performance. It attracted a lot of attention from passers by; one of the market traders said that she couldn't take her eyes off the young people once they started.
