MELBOURNE FESTIVAL ART AND ARCHITECTURE TRAIL 2010

Plans are now underway for this year's Melbourne Festival and they would like to invite Artists and Makers from throughout Derbyshire and surrounding area to apply for selection for the Melbourne Festival 2010 Art and Architecture Trail. Over the past six years Melbourne Festival has established itself as a firm fixture in South Derbyshire's cultural calendar. The Art and Architecture  Trail see local residents opening their homes and businesses to act as hosts for Artists and Makers to exhibit their work in some of the most attractive buildings in the heart of the conservation of this beautiful town.  Each year approximately 90 artists are selected to exhibit on the Trail which attracts about 4000 visitors over the weekend.

This year's Art and architecture is planned for the middle weekend of the Melbourne Festival, this years dates are Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September.

Applications will need to submit images of their work along with their full contact details and any supporting information they feel will be relevant by 31st March 2010, the closing date for entries. The entries will then be collated ready for the Selection Panel to meet in April. Selected Artists and Makers will then be matched to a host venue and ALL Artists and Makers will be contacted by the end of May. Selected Artists and Makers will be charged an Exhibition Fee of £50, they do not charge commission on sales.

Applications are invited from artists working in both two and three dimensions and in all mediums, all work must be original. Each year they aim to provide an opportunity for the public see, and buy, work direct from some of the best creative talents in the Midlands.
